Gov digital wallet
Kudos to GOV.uk and GDS for building a digital wallet to unify official docs (e.g. passport, driving licences..) helping to join-up the experience of using government services.
Guardian reports that it will focus on passports for its June launch, followed by driving licences, vehicle tax, benefits, student loans, and wider.
And on digital accessibility, Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Technology, believes that: “Making government services more online does not mean that those people who can’t access the internet will be left behind,” he said. “In fact, what we are discovering is that the more we make online services easier to access … we as a government can start focusing human resources on those people need and can only interact in a human way … We will deliver public services that are more human, not less.”
